Synthetic resins are our passion.
We are a certified company of long standing whose constant innovations and creative ideas testify to its enduring youthfulness. Our large knowledge pool and extraordinary dedication help us develop and produce market, customer and future-oriented synthetic resins and specialities for various different coatings.
The company was founded as far back as 1864. It was at that time that Conrad Wilhelm Schmidt chose to establish the company as a paint and varnish factory, one which today is a 5th generation family-run company.
At the start of 1999 a legally independent company evolved through the divestment of the synthetic resin area, which started trading under the name “ATCOAT GmbH” from 1 January 2009 so as to clearly differentiate itself from the earlier varnish business.
Our company is located in an area capable of development with a good infrastructure and connection to the motorway as well as close proximity to Germany’s largest container terminal station.
We operate internationally but nonetheless focus a lot on staying in close personal contact with our customers and catering to individual customer wishes. What we care about is that our customers feel like they’re being taken good care of – Reliability and trustful cooperation are important to us.
Our strengths lie in the high levels of flexibility and outstanding cooperation between the lab, production floor, sales and distribution teams. The optimum mix of both long-standing, experienced employees and young, dynamic go-getters make up the perfectly balanced team. A team that enjoys and is able to cope with all the challenges thrown at them, one which is open to new directions in the development of optimum, innovative products. The productivity of our employees as well as the high degree of technology growth and automation also ensure both high levels of efficiency and that the high quality standards we set ourselves are always met.
